What seasons does SCNC play in , and how can I register?
FIND OUT MORESwan Christian Netball Club competes in both the Winter and Spring seasons through Swan Districts Netball Association (SDNA).
The Winter season is our main competitive season, running from March to August. Teams play on Saturdays, with weekly training sessions during the week to build skills, confidence and teamwork.
The Spring season runs from October to December and offers a shorter, more relaxed competition. It’s a great opportunity for new players to try netball, for returning players to ease back into the game, or for teammates to simply enjoy a fun and social season together.
We welcome players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners through to experienced players. Registrations are completed online through PlayHQ, and our club is always happy to help guide new members through the process.
How do I know what court we are playing on?
SDNA COURT LAYOUTCourt numbers for each game are listed on the fixtures, which can be accessed through PlayHQ or via the Fixtures and Results page on our website.
If you’re attending games at Swan Districts Netball Association (SDNA) and are unsure where to go, you can also view a court layout showing the court numbers and locations to help you find your game easily.
What equipment does my child need?
To get started, players only need a few basics:
Proper sports shoes suitable for netball
SCNC Uniform for game days
A water bottle
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Swan Christian Netball Club provides all the sporting equipment needed for training sessions and season games, including balls and training gear, so families don’t need to purchase additional equipment.
During the season, teams also take part in a simple fruit roster, where each family takes a turn bringing fruit for players to enjoy after the game. It’s a small tradition that helps keep players fuelled and brings a nice sense of team spirit to game days.
How do I order a new uniform?
SCNC BUY & SELLClub uniforms can be ordered during the registration process through PlayHQ when signing up for the season. Once registrations open, the uniform options and ordering details will be available as part of the registration steps.
A link to our SCNC shop can be found on the top right side of our website.
Within our club community, many families also make use of the SCNC Facebook Buy & Sell page. This is a great place to find pre-loved uniforms, swap sizes as players grow, or sell uniforms that are no longer needed. It’s a helpful way for families to save money while keeping uniforms circulating within the club.

Netball WA and Netball Australia player registration
Club fees to support coaching, training and administration
Insurance through Netball WA
Uniforms are purchased separately once teams are finalised.
Do you accept boys in your netball teams?
Yes. Boys are welcome to participate in most junior age groups, in line with Netball WA and association guidelines.
Swan Christian Netball Club supports inclusive participation and encourages all young athletes to enjoy the game and develop their skills in a welcoming environment.
What if my child has never played netball before?
That’s absolutely fine. We welcome players of all experience levels, including beginners.
Our coaches focus on creating a supportive and positive environment where new players can learn the fundamentals, build confidence and enjoy being part of a team.
How are teams selected?
At the beginning of the season, grading sessions are held for Years 6 & above. This helps place players into teams based on skill and experience. We aim to create balanced teams and ensure everyone has a positive experience throughout the season.
Who coaches the teams?
Our teams are supported by dedicated volunteer coaches from within our club community. Many of our coaches complete Netball WA coaching accreditation and development opportunities to help support player learning and growth.
We are incredibly grateful for the time and energy our coaches give to help players develop both their skills and their love of the game.
If you are a student at Swan Christian College and have a passion for netball, we warmly invite students from Years 9–12 to get involved in coaching and inspiring one of our teams. Year 9 students typically support our younger NetSetGo teams and, to help create a supportive environment, a parent or caregiver from the team will act as the Team Manager to assist with organisation and communication throughout the season.
How do I volunteer or help out?
We always welcome support from our club community. Netball clubs thrive thanks to volunteers who give their time to help players and teams succeed.
Whether you're interested in coaching, team managing, scoring, helping at events or supporting behind the scenes, we’d love to hear from you.
Please reach out through our contact page to get involved.
How do I become a Team Manager and what is involved?
Team Managers are an important part of every SCNC team. A Team Manager must be appointed from the team’s parent or caregiver group for the team to participate in the Winter competition, and coaches cannot hold both roles.
The Team Manager supports the coach and helps keep the team organised by managing communication through the Heja app, sharing updates from the SCNC Committee, and coordinating simple rosters such as scoring/timing and fruit.
All Team Managers are required to complete the free Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport online induction. A Working With Children Check is generally not required for parents or guardians of registered players, however a volunteer declaration form will be completed.
Team Managers also help ensure players, parents and spectators follow association guidelines during games, including remaining behind the yellow line and respecting umpire decisions.
If you would like to volunteer as a Team Manager or learn more about the role, please contact the club through our website and a committee member will be happy to assist.
Does Swan Christian Netball Club accept KidSport vouchers?
APPLY FOR VOUCHERSwan Christian Netball Club (SCNC) supports the KidSport program, which helps eligible families cover the cost of community sport.
If you qualify for KidSport funding, you will need to apply through the KidSport website before registering your child with the club. Once your application is approved, you will receive a unique KidSport voucher code.
This code can then be entered during the PlayHQ registration process so the funding can be applied to your child’s registration fees.
